Foods and Drinks That Naturally Clean Teeth

Tooth enamel is the hardest tissue found in the human body. This enamel protects the main portion of the tooth, the dentin, which is responsible for the color of your teeth. Help keep the tough shell that covers the tooth at its strongest by supplementing your diet with the following foods. These foods not only offer nutritional benefits, but they also help keep your teeth white and strong.

Cheese is high in calcium which strengthens your teeth and bones naturally.

  • Cheese

It is well known that drinking milk will strengthen your bones due to the fact that it is very rich in calcium. This is the same for cheese and other dairy products such as yogurt. They also contain casein protein, which helps stabilize and repair enamel. Not all cheese products are high in calcium though, so make sure to check the label and see what percentage of your daily recommended calcium amount is in each serving.

Spinach and other leafy greens are nutrient-rich and packed with fiber, which is excellent for your teeth. This healing elixir is known to contain powerful bacteria and disease-fighting antioxidants, which are able to protect teeth by preventing plaque from building up and sticking. Many teas also contain fluoride which prevents tooth decay and strengthens enamel.

Eating apples can help clean teeth, and fight bad breath.

Fruits and veggies such as carrots, apples, pears, and cucumber all require a lot of chewing which is very beneficial to the health of your teeth and gums. All the chewing disrupts bacteria-filled plaque and cleanses the teeth and gums. There are also many fruits that are packed with an enzyme known as malic acid, which naturally makes teeth whiter. Fruits that have the highest concentration of malic acid include watermelon, apricots, and bananas.
