We are committed to making goldcoastdental.com usable and welcoming for everyone, including people with disabilities. This page explains the standards we follow, where we are today, how to ask for help, and how to give us feedback.

Disclaimer
Here For You
Gold Coast Dental continues its efforts to constantly improve the accessibility of its site and services based on the belief that it is our collective moral obligation to allow seamless, accessible and unhindered use also for those of us with disabilities.
Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on the site to be fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution.
Gold Coast Dental believes that high-quality dental care should be accessible to every patient and every prospective patient. That principle extends to our website. We work to design, build, and maintain goldcoastdental.com so that people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice-control software, screen magnifiers, captioning, and other assistive technologies can find information about our offices, learn about our services, and book an appointment with full and equal access.
Our goal is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.2 AA is the standard recognized by California courts under Thurston v. Midvale Corp., 39 Cal.App.5th 634 (2019), and the de facto national benchmark for private-sector commercial websites. We also align our practices with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the California Unruh Civil Rights Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 51 et seq.).
Where we are today: conformance status
Gold Coast Dental considers itself partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA at this time. “Partially conformant” means most parts of the website meet the standard, while some content — including some third-party features described below — has known accessibility limitations that we are actively working to resolve.
We perform automated accessibility scans on our most-visited pages on a recurring basis, and we engage independent specialists certified by the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) to conduct manual conformance reviews of our website and our online booking flow.
Accessibility features built into our website
- Keyboard navigation. Every page can be operated using only a keyboard. A “Skip to content” link appears at the start of every page so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the navigation menu and jump straight to the page’s main content.
- Screen reader support. Our pages use semantic HTML, descriptive headings, ARIA landmarks, and accessible names on links and buttons so that screen readers (such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack) can announce the page structure and interactive elements.
- Alternative text for images. Photographs and informative graphics include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers can skip them.
- Color and contrast. We design with high color contrast for body text and use color in combination with text or icons (not color alone) to convey meaning.
- Resizable text. Text can be enlarged up to 200% in your browser without loss of content or function.
- Forms with clear labels. Form fields have visible labels and programmatic associations so assistive technologies can announce what each field expects.
- Page language. Each page declares English as its primary language so screen readers pronounce content with the correct accent and intonation.
- Consistent navigation. The main menu, footer, and “Book Now” controls appear in the same place across pages.
- Reduced motion. Where animation is used, we respect your operating system’s “Reduce Motion” preference.
Known limitations and our plan to fix them
We believe in being transparent about the parts of our website that do not yet meet our accessibility goals. The following items are known limitations as of the date this page was last reviewed:
- Online appointment booking widget. Our online booking is provided by a third-party scheduling system embedded into our pages. Some assistive-technology users have reported difficulty completing the booking process. We are reviewing the booking flow with independent accessibility consultants and will make improvements or replace the widget if necessary. In the meantime, you can book any appointment by phone — see “Get help” below.
- Maps and embedded third-party content. Some pages include Google Maps embeds and other third-party content. The accessibility of those embedded components is governed by the providers and may vary.
- Some PDFs and patient forms. A few older PDF documents on this site were not produced with full accessibility tagging. We are remediating these documents on a rolling basis. If you encounter a PDF you cannot read, please contact us — we will provide an accessible version, large print, or read it to you over the phone, at no charge.
- Some images with non-descriptive alternative text. A small number of images on our site have placeholder alt text. We are replacing them.
- Icon-only links. A few small icons (for example, social-media links and the search icon) currently rely on visual context alone. We are adding programmatic labels to all such icons.
If you encounter any other accessibility barriers, please tell us using the contact information below. Your feedback helps us prioritize fixes.
